The African Front
With urban warfare rising, pallets of cash being flown in on unmarked cargo planes, and imperial culture wars heating up, Africa is by no means missing out on the current Third World War.
As Burkino Faso experiences its second coup of 2022 accompanied by pro-Russian protests and the burning of the French embassy, the proxy wars between Russia/China and the collective West in Africa are becoming impossible to ignore. Mali and the Central African Republic already experienced anti-French coups and violence with Russia aligned military contractors, most importantly the Wagner group, aiding anti-French militias in the former colonies of the once great Empire. After French forces were decisively driven out of Mali they resettled in neighboring Niger which is a crucial foothold for France. Over 50% of the Uranium used to power France’s extensive nuclear power network comes from the impoverished nation. Based on its success in the surrounding post-colonial states it stands to reason that Niger will be next on Wagner and the Russian Foreign Ministry’s list of states they wish to bring into their growing fold. In fact the Russian equivalent of the Babylon Bee has been making jokes about the creating of an “African Federal District”
Russian proxies fighting on the African continent is nothing new of course. Throughout the cold war the Soviet Union aided many anti-Western states like Angola, and Russian backed forces currently clash with Turkish proxies in war torn Libya. The forced regime change and murder of Libyan President Muamar Qaddafi in 2011 (orchestrated by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton) has marked a dramatic shift in attitude on the continent. Libya was a prospering nation that was the richest and most stable in Africa and now 11 years later is still marred by sectarian violence, open air slave markets, and now acts as an endlessly flowing pipe of illegal, sub – Saharan African immigration into Europe.
More and more African leaders have expressed disdain for the cultural colonialism that comes with collaboration with the West. Leaders like Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and many others have expressed how their nations want nothing to do with the homosexual, LGBT agenda yet it is brought by NGO’s anyway. I highly recommend everyone follow the son of the aforementioned President, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who also leads the Ugandan Armed Forces. On twitter he recently stated that “An attack on Russia is an attack on Africa!” not too long after Russian Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov was warmly welcomed by his father (Lavrov also strengthened economic relations with Egypt, Ethiopia, and the Congo on the same trip) on a state visit. Museveni commented on the West’s attempts to alienate him from Russia saying, “Whenever issues come up and some people want us to take positions against Russia, we say, ‘these people have been with us for the last 100 years, how can we be automatically against them?'” Unfortunately, it seems that Muhoozi has been suspended from his position after calling for the invasion of neighboring Kenya on Twitter and insisting his army could take Nairobi in less than 2 weeks.
During the worldwide insanity that was COVID lockdowns and vaccine propaganda multiple African leaders stood up against the WHO and United Nations medical tyranny. Most notably the former President of Tanzania John Magufuli ordered the end of all COVID testing in his country after he exposed the tests as fraudulent by gaining false positives from fruit and goats. He rejected forced masking and called the rushed vaccines “dangerous”. Magufuli was exceptionally popular in Tanzania and stood strongly against homosexual imperialism, anti-Christian activity, the mass use of birth control, and even oversaw some of the most rapid and successful economic growth of any African nation during his tenure as President. It comes as no surprise then that he died under mysterious circumstances in March 2021, a week after rejecting COVID vaccines into his country, from an “unknown illness”. It also comes as no surprise that Magufuli was replaced by a female leader who has since closely aligned herself with the US both on COVID as well as the war in Ukraine. This new puppet also comes from the nations Muslim population which is half the size of the Christian majority of which Magufuli was a devout representative. Am I directly saying there was a plot to kill Magafuli? Honestly? Yes I am. Especially considering Bill Gates sponsored an article demanding his removal and other third world leaders who resisted the WHO met similar ends around the same time.
With hot conflicts growing in North Africa, French West Africa, Ethiopia, Congo, and a perpetual racial conflict in collapsing South Africa it is safe to say that World War Three has come to the global south. Africa is a mess, and it is unlikely that industrial warfare like that appearing in Eastern Europe and the caucuses will manifest but as each African state is forced to choose its side in the worldwide reckoning between East and West, it is possible that conflicts with loss of life similar Second Congo War (1998-2003) could reappear with millions dead and displaced.
Ultimately China is one of the most strongly positioned in Africa with many states lining up to request military and transportation infrastructure in exchange for Chinese political influence and sometimes even direct Chinese control over ports and military bases. China currently operates a huge new base on the Horn of Africa that was approved despite desperate pleas from the US to the government of Djibouti which also hosts an American base nearby.
Many African leaders have spoken about how Chinese investment uses African corruption to outflank western soft power. According to Ahmednasir Abdullahi, a Kenyan lawyer and government critic, China flies in pallets of cash to African nations that stay out of any official banking systems. Some claim this is due to China’s willingness to engage in direct bribery or kickbacks with the officials receiving the aid, yet this occurs within the banking system as well. The real reason, it seems to me, that China does this is to allow African states to avoid scruple from the Western bloc, while maintaining foreign investment from what Africans view as “non-imperial” alternatives to the secular, globalist West. There are also murmurings that China is looking to open military bases in Equatorial Guinea as well as Namibia which would give China two footholds in the Atlantic Ocean and bring them much closer to military parity with the US on the continent as Uncle Sam only has bases in 5 African countries.
In conclusion, Africa is not being put on the backburner but, in true WWIII fashion, is being rushed with diplomacy and investment. Many African nations have close ties to the West due to their colonial past and the high amount of humanitarian aid and NGO’s present but ultimately Africans are wary of the liberal West. Besides animosity held over from colonialism, Africa has seen what it means to go the way of secularism as well as what the “rules based international order” is capable of. Between killing Qaddafi, likely killing Magufuli, the UN’s disastrous handling of the Rwandan Genocide, and the growing resentment towards technocrats like Bill Gates who use Africans as vaccine experiments, I think it is safe to say that the reckoning of Africa in this dramatic theater of our times is something to watch very closely…
great article! super informative! :)
