I will say for young people it is possible somewhere in the Midwest and Appalachia to find a decent house under 25,000. probably won't find a good paying local job but if don't have the mortgage and property taxes are low....
Wealthy philanthropists and remote workers desiring to relocate could build communities in these places but it will take hundreds of millions of dollars to do correctly. We don’t want ppl moving to downwardly mobile areas and checking out of society entirely
