As a staunch Roman Catholic who has served in conditions of war, I join you in your beliefs. I would also underscore the distinction that while all war is intrinsically evil, the urgency to defeat forces intent upon commiting Evil for its own sake (as we're seeing now) is a principle defense of life itself. We are obligated by light & love to destroy these *first actors* in such rarefied cases or risk deletion ourselves.
