No one can be a Christian if they are not Orthodox.
I am aware that they aren’t ‘martyrs’ according to Orthodox theology.
The term was simply used to reference that group, for the sake of pragmatic convenience. For example when we say ‘Roman Catholic Church’ the same principle is applied.
As you know, I’m probably the furthest thing from an ecumenist.
