I remember back in late 2020 we lost 5 bishops in one week. I recall Bishop David of Alaska was one of them. A lot changed after that point. That pre 2020 Orthodoxy is like a dream now.

This year has ended with the death of Archbishop peter, and the retirement of Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta as well as Archbishop Benjamin of the West. Three of the last pre-2007 Bishops are gone. Metropolitan Isaiah stepped down a few months ago. There is a new patriarch in Bulgaria. We probably won't have Patriarch Bartholomew or Catholicos Ilia much longer either. The Silent Generation is almost over. The Boomers are starting to wane. 2025 is probably going to be a lot of elections going on in all the synods.

Pray that american Orthodox Christians elect good Bishops in every jurisdiction. Pray especially that the new Bishops can work together and maybe even begin to consolidate some jurisdictions.
